Swami Vivekananda meditated on this rock for three days where this memorial stands today, before his leaving for Chicago to participate in the World Religious Conference in 1893.
Padmanabhapuram Palace is one of the best tourist places in kanyakumari which symbolizes the cultural heritage and diversity. The most unique part of this palace is that it has been entirely made of wood. The Kerala Government taking care of the palace and it attracts more than 100 visitors every day. It has been noted to be one of the 10 best palaces in the world.
Built in the honor of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Gandhi Memorial is the place where ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were kept after his unfortunate demise in 1948. He had earlier came to Kanyakumari in 1925 and 1937.
After his demise, Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were kept in 12 different urns and transferred to different cities and towns of the country, before the immersion. One of the 12 urns was kept here in Kanyakumari for three days for the public to pay respect, later the ashes were immersed in the ocean.
Kanyakumari Amman Temple:
The Kumari Amman Temple Located in Kanyakumari, Kumari Amman Temple is one of the most sacred temples in India. Considered as one of the 108 Shakti Peethas, The temple has been dedicated to Goddess Parvati who is the virgin deity. Devi Parvati was in love with Lord Shiva and therefore she wanted him as a husband. So, she started meditating for Lord Shiva.

Statue of Thiruvalluvar is very close to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. this 133 feet stone sculpture is dedicated to the Tamil poet and philosopher Tiruvalluvar. It was designed by temple architect, Ganapati Sthapati. This monument was completed in 9 years; it was open to the public in 2000. Ferry service is available to access this statue.it's one of the most common places to visit in kanyakumari.
Suchindram Temple :
Suchindram is famous for the Thanumalayan Temple, it is located 13KM distance from Kanyakumari. Suchindram is a very famous pilgrim centre, situated between Nagercoil and Kanyakumari. The Thanumalayan Temple built in the 17th century is famous for its sculptural wealth and we’ll known for its quality of workmanship.
Mayapuri - Wonder Wax Museum:
